PV System Design & Production Simulation (EE216S)

Course Description

The EE216S  intensive training course is designed to teach individuals how to use various PV system performance & production software programs such as PVsyst, PV*SOL, Bluesol, Helioscope, PVWatts, & PVGIS. production & performance simulation, 3D scenes creation, shading analysis, system optimization, production reports preparation, system design will be taught. This course includes 30 hours of online-live training (or onsite), a course outline, examples, exercises, quizzes, assignments, final project, final exam and a certificate of completion.

Pre-requisites: EE200 & EE201

Course Objectives

o Understand the components of PVsyst, Pvwatts, PVGIS Software in detail.
o Understand the features of other software such as Bluesol & PV*SOL.
o Ability to generate production and losses report of various types of PV systems.
o Ability to build 3D scenes and model near shading.
o Ability to perform financial analysis.

6. Case Studies

Assignment of course grade:
The grade will be based on the weighted index as shown below.

Final Exam . . . . . . . . . 50 %

* 3 quizzes + 3 Assignments+ 1 project + 1 final exam
