Lifespan of Solar PV Inverters

A solar PV system has a lifespan of around 25 years. Utility Interactive PV Inverters have a lifespan between 10 years and 25 years depending on the manufacturer. But most inverters come with a life-expectancy of 10 years. They require regular maintenance to make sure they are working efficiently.

There are several factors that affect the lifespan of inverters:
-Temperature: high temperature reduce inverter’s efficiency and shorten their life.
– Grid power quality: poor power quality will affect the performance of the inverter and reduce its lifespan.

To ensure high performance and longer life of the solar inverter, you need to keep the inverter clean and a way from the direct sun. You also need to choose optimal position of the inverter where no overheat can occur.
