Terms of Use Agreement

The following terms and conditions (the “Agreement”) govern the provision of the GIEE training course services (the “Services”) to you. By accepting the services, you agree to be bound by this Agreement with GIEE as of the date hereof. No action other than your participation in the GIEE course is necessary to demonstrate your acceptance of this Agreement.

Non-Discrimination Policy

The Institution admits students without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, age, disability, or any other factor prohibited by law. GIEE does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, marital status, age, disability, or any other factor prohibited by law in the recruitment and admission of students, the operation of any of its educational programs and activities, and the recruitment and employment of faculty and staff.

Enrollment & Deposits

Participants may register for courses, lectures, workshops and programs on the GIEE website or by calling 1-614-599-3923. GIEE allows for participants to place a deposit at the time of registration to hold their seat. The student will not be placed on the roster, allowed in the classroom, or provided any study materials until full payment is provided.

Course/Event Materials

GIEE’s programs include all necessary equipment and course materials. Participants can access their course materials in their online GIEE student account as soon as they register if the event is online-recorded or if the event ((courses, lectures, workshops, programs, etc.) is online-live or onsite, the material will be available at the start date. However, GIEE has the right not to provide some of the events materials. GIEE’s digital study materials are accessible on most laptops, tablets, and mobile devices through an updated Internet browser. There is no application to download; students must ensure that they are running the most updated versions of Java and Flash Player. Students may purchase a print version at an additional cost by calling 1-614-599-3923.

Travel, Lodging, and Other Expenses

GIEE reserves the right to change the day a course meets, change the location of a course, or cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen events. If GIEE must cancel a course, participants will be provided alternatives. GIEE is not responsible for non-refundable plane fares, hotel and car deposits, or any other expenses incurred by registrants in courses or other events.

Grading & Pass Rates

GIEE provides an official certificate of completion to students who complete 100% of the course(s) in which they have enrolled and earn a score of at least 80% in the whole course. Attendance will be taken to prove that the student was present for 100% of the course(s). GIEE’s certificate of completion may serve as proof of one’s attendance and successfully completion in a sustainability training course. This process works the same for GIEE webinar sessions that are pre-recorded; however, the student must complete additional required quizzes, assignments, projects and exams in order to validate his/her participation and attendance. Webinar students must earn a score of at least 80% on the competency quiz at the end of the course to receive a certificate of completion.

Students not in attendance for the first 25% of a course will be dismissed and not allowed to attend for the remainder of the course. Students not attending a course, not successfully completing a program, or not completing the appropriate make-up sessions within 14 business days of the completion of the course will be required to re-register, charged tuition, and attend the course again to earn a certificate of completion.

Final Exam Make Up Fees: $100

Attendance Policy

Because of the short length of the courses offered by GIEE, students must complete 100% of course training to qualify as completing the program. Participants are expected to arrive on time for each course and stay through the duration of the day. In extenuating circumstances, the instructor will work with the student to make up time lost during the course. These situations are handled on a case-by-case basis. For all individuals with planned absences, please contact GIEE’s customer service line to transfer into another course.

In the event of an unanticipated absence, the instructor will work with the student to determine the best way to make up the time spent out of the class. This might include visiting another course, viewing pre-recorded webinars, participating in live webinars, or other means by which the instructor deems appropriate for making up lost instruction.

Planned tardiness or early departures must be communicated to GIEE before the course begins.

Tardiness or Early Departures

Students must attend 100% of course training to qualify as completing the program and granting an official completion certificate. Planned tardiness or early departures must be communicated to GIEE before the course begins.

Course Cancellation

GIEE reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses under certain circumstances. If this is the case, you may choose to reschedule or receive a full refund of the tuition cost. No cancellation or rescheduling fees will be assessed if GIEE cancels or reschedules the training.

Student Substitutions

Should a student be unable to attend a course, he or she may substitute another individual at no additional charge, provided GIEE is notified of the substitution before 5 p.m. (EST) 20 business days before the program begins. This substitution will count as a fulfilled transaction. If the original student decides to attend a future course, he/she will have to place a new order for the future course.

Transfers

If a student needs to transfer his or her registration to a future offering of this class, GIEE can arrange this, provided space is available. Students making this decision must submit a written request (by email) to GIEE’s customer support team. Students will be charged a transfer fee based on the schedule set forth below:

Live Classroom, Live Webinar or onsite Courses

Students who request a transfer at least 20 business days prior to the start of their live classroom course date will be able to do so at no additional charge.

Students who request a transfer within 10 business days of the start of their online-recorded date will be charged a $125 transfer fee.

Cancellations & Refunds

We do not provide refunds. If you are unhappy with our Services for some reason let us know and we will work to make it better. Depending upon our assessment of the circumstances of your dissatisfaction, we may allow you to use some portion of your payment as a credit towards a different course.

Grievance Process

The purpose of this Grievance Policy is to ensure that participants understand how to report grievances to GIEE upon inappropriate actions by any instructor or employee of this organization and that GIEE has a standardized process to resolve grievances.

A participant may pursue a grievance if he or she believes that an employee of GIEE has violated his or her rights. This Grievance Policy applies to:

  • Alleged discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or disability.
  • Final grades or certificates of completion.
  • Issues related to customer service, registration, and/or record keeping.
  • Problems arising in the relationship between a participant and an GIEE employee not recognized in this policy.

It is strongly suggested that the student discuss his or her grievance with the person involved in the situation that has caused the grievance.

The discussion should be held as soon as the participant first becomes aware of the behavior that requires resolution. The participant may wish to present his or her grievance in writing to the person alleged to have caused the grievance. In either case, the person alleged to have caused the grievance must respond to the participant promptly, either orally or in writing.

If an individual decides not to resolve the grievance with the person or the individual does not feel as if the situation was resolved appropriately, he or she may present the grievance in writing to any senior administrator at GIEE. Written grievances and/or notifications must be presented to an administrator no longer than thirty business days after the individual was involved in the situation that created the grievance. The administrator will conduct an informal investigation to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Based upon this investigation, the administrator will recommend actions to be taken by all parties involved. The written determination shall include process involved during the investigation, reasons for the decision made by the administrator, and the actions to be taken by each party to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. All decisions are final.

Candidates considering online classes are responsible for researching and understanding compatibility needs with regard to choice of device, network speed, security settings, and Internet browser. GIEE will not be held accountable for compatibility issues.

GIEE is committed to quality service. We employ high-quality techniques at every stage of business, from hiring certified instructors and offering approved or accredited curriculum to responding to customer feedback offered via email, post-course survey, calls, and live chat. We evaluate student learning through assessments, quizzes, and surveys to measure learning objectives to desired outcomes.

Any unauthorized use of login credentials must be reported to support@giee.org as soon as you are aware of such use, and we will, as soon as reasonably possible, cancel your username and/or password and issue new ones to you. We may require you to change your username and/or password in order to restore secure access to your online Student Account and the contents within. We reserve the right to cancel your username and password without notice if we become aware of any breach of these Terms and Conditions by you.
